So far our garden is growing wonderfully! But, there is always one or two things that don't make it. For us, it was the squash. Why, do you ask? Because of a little, tiny, evil bug called... (can you guess)
The Squashbug...
This is the second year we have had them, and no matter how hard we try we just can't get rid of them.We are organic gardeners, so when something starts eating our plants, we pick it off. We have tried using duck tape every day, diatonatious earth (organic bug killer), and just plain old squishing them. Squashbugs however, multiply so fast, you cant miss any of them or there eggs will hatch and take over your garden (that's what the duck tape is for). Well, that is just what happened. The bitter taste of defeat comes once again. :P
But! We must remember the other plants! Other than an unusual amount of grass hoppers and crickets, the rest of the garden is doing great. Here are some pictures.
Whats left of our squash :(
If you look close, you'll see a watermelon! (right)
"...and God gave man herbs to season the fruit of the land..."
Proverbs (I think)
And our Favorite...
SUNFLOWERS!!!
They just brighten up the garden!
Its Hannah's most favorite flower.
Shalom All!!!
What is your favorite flower?
Let us know!
Hannah and Sophia
So sorry about your squash! Our squash flourished this year, and I think it's because the squash bugs don't know where we are. I think my favorite flower is a Lily. A Lily or an Orchid; I can't decide which. :)
